5-year-old Oscar: "Where are you from?"
Me: "I'm from New Jersey."
Oscar: "What is your..." ::pause:: "hairtage?"
Me: "Oh. Well, I'm American and Pacific Islander."
Oscar: ::frowns:: "Did your island sink?"

I'm an entrepreneurial writer and editor who's been rooted in the blustery world of journalism for 10 years. Fluent in English, Spanish and AP style, I've worked as managing editor, features editor and freelance reporter for publications in Spain and the United States, such as The Baltimore Sun, The Globe, InMadrid, The Daily Camera, Yellow Scene, Maryland Life, Rooster Magazine and The Washingtonian.

I work and play in both traditional and new media platforms. I'm the creator/curator of Twine Collective and the founder/editor of Twine Magazine, intended to inspire people to intertwine play and purpose in their lives and to showcase great longform storytelling.

I am a life connoisseur; I believe in living purposefully with regard to place, pleasure, and palate.

My #1 passion is writing. Whether I'm working on an investigative story, a narrative feature or a poem, I strive to be the conduit for a genuine connection between my subject and readers.
